Large orders for the G700 and Gulfstream

The Gulfstream G700 flew directly from its headquarters in Savannah, Georgia, to the hangar of its launch customer, Qatar Executive, in Doha as the perceived best ultra-long-range aircraft in the private and business aviation sectors. The delegation in Doha, including Qatar Airways Group executives, media representatives and top customers, were excited about Gulfstream’s new flagship aircraft. As a result, Qatar Executive added to its order of 14 G650s and immediately ordered another 10 G700 jets as well. Qatar Executive uses the G700 as a charter aircraft in its fleet of long-range and ultra-long-range aircraft.

Gulfstream’s G700 jet will take the lead

When the G700, estimated to cost $75 million, enters service next year, it will likely mean that Gulfstream’s G700 jet, Bombardier’s Global 7500, the aircraft currently at the top of the business aviation will outrank this category.

Another ultra-long-range jet is scheduled to enter service in 2025, the Dassault Falcon 10X. This will further increase the great competition that exists in this category.
